The Directorate of Academic Planning of Ikirun College of Health Technology on Friday, 23rd October, 2026, organised the second edition of its Research Writing and Supervision Workshop for academic staff, as part of efforts to strengthen research competence, improve academic supervision and promote professional development within the institution.

The workshop followed the college’s participation in a two-day training programme organised by the Community Health Institute, providing an opportunity to extend the knowledge and skills acquired to other academic staff members and reinforce the institution’s commitment to continuous learning and capacity development.

The session was facilitated by Mr Olaoye Sodiq Sola and Mrs Abayomi Mary O., who engaged participants on research writing and supervision. 

The workshop was designed to enhance staff members’ understanding of effective research practices and strengthen their capacity to guide students through academic research and project development.

Speaking at the academic exercise, the Director of Academic Planning, Mrs Dorcas Oluwaseun reiterated the college’s commitment to improving staff capacity through continuous training and professional development. 

The Director emphasised the importance of equipping academic staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver quality teaching, conduct meaningful research and provide effective supervision.

The initiative underscores the college’s determination to strengthen academic standards and foster a culture of research excellence, ensuring that both staff and students benefit from improved academic practices and institutional development.
